  Çedilla Mobile Solutions

As a single source of supply for your mobile solution needs, Çedilla can make it easier for your business to “go mobile”. We can guide you through the device, tariff and software design/configuration choices to allow your remote workers to connect to your email and Navision/ERP systems quickly and easily.

Our experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) technologies can ensure that your mobile investments are optimised for your back-office ERP infrastructure. For existing Navision or Çedilla customers, we can act as a convenient single source of supply to add value to your IT investments.

Devices
The first choice which your business faces if you want to “go mobile” is the type device used to connect to your corporate network. There are a number of options:

  • The i-mate™ JASJAR (run on Windows Mobile 5.0)
Çedilla recommend the i-mate™ JASJAR as the most superior and cost-effective technology solution for reading/inputting into Navision data and sending/receiving email from a mobile device. Powered by Windows mobile 5.0, this device enables you to connect remotely to your company’s network, email and internet services. The i-mate™ JASJAR offers the most advanced set of features yet including a built-in phone, full VGA screen, 520MHz Intel processor and 128MB of Permanent Memory, built-in antivirus software* and Skype™ internet telephony software*.(*not available in all territories.) • BlackBerry
For “push-email” technology (i.e. emails pushed out to mobile devices without the need for the user to connect to an email server), BlackBerry and BlackBerry-enabled devices are the best option. Blackberrys are generally more affordable than the i-mate™ JASJAR, but does not currently include interoperability with a Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) database. The Blackberry enables

users to send and receive emails (including attachments) wirelessly, access HTML and WAP web pages and make and receive phone calls. BlackBerry business phones provide the best wireless email and data experience for users who prefer a smaller handset design whilst still requiring complete BlackBerry functionality, and features. BlackBerry handheld devices feature a QWERTY keyboard, thumb-operated trackwheel, easy-to-read backlit screen, intuitive menu-driven interface and integrated software applications. • Lap-tops with 3G/GPRS data cards
If you prefer the higher processing capability and convenience of lap-tops, 3G/GPRS data cards can be used with any laptop to provide access to wireless high-speed internet services, email and your company Local Area Network and Navision system. 3G networks offer connection speeds that are up to seven times faster than a 56k PSTN modem dial-up connection. If you find yourself in an area without 3G coverage, the data cards can keep you connected by switching automatically to the well-established GPRS data service. For more information, Click Here

Mobile solutions connect mobile handheld devices to corporate email and application servers. They allow employees and workers who spend time out of the office to stay informed of company developments and respond to emails and events as if connected to the corporate LAN (Local Area Network).

Thanks to rapid advances in technology and competitive pressures in the mobile market, these solutions are now affordable, with benefits that far outweigh any initial investments.

Çedilla Systems can now offer your organisation a wide range of flexible mobile solutions. A Çedilla mobile solution could:

  • Enable warehouse managers to digitally receive items into the warehouse with immediate and secure update of the ERP system.
  • Allow the manager on-the-road access to the in-house ERP database to view KPI progress, financial reports and other essential management information.
  • Empower field staff with ability to check and update stock records and place sales orders remotely.
  • Streamline the procurement process by allowing purchasing managers to authorise purchase requests remotely.
  • Equip fee-earners or other service personnel with ability to file timesheets remotely without logging in via a PC.
  • Reduce Hardware Costs usually associated with remote access.

Tariffs
The second option for mobile businesses to consider is communications costs. Çedilla can offer all of these devices as flexible packages including monthly talk time plans. Packages will be designed on an individual basis to ensure that they fit your specific business requirements. Costs vary depending on number of users and your preferred choice of network provider (if applicable). Çedilla can offer competitive prices, along with advice on optimum use of your chosen tariffs.

Software configuration
We can work closely with our customers to configure Navision forms, data entry screens and reports for your chosen mobile device. We can build an interface to your mobile device into Navision which is easy-to-use, powerful and customised to your requirements.
